Kiyzassky Open-Pit Mine is provided with High-Speed Internet and Stable Mobile Communications

High-speed internet and 4G mobile communications have been introduced at Kiyzassky Open-Pit Mine. The project was carried out jointly with Rostelecom. The operator connected the company’s production facilities, located 20 kilometers from the town of Myski, with the main communications line and installed two base stations.

A large modern facility should have appropriate communications infrastructure,” said Yegor Kochnev, Director for the Corporate and Government Sectors at Rostelecom’s Kemerovo branch. “The optical line not only provides a stable internet connection, but also makes it possible to use digital services for business, such as a smart video monitoring system and a virtual data center.”

4G mobile communications and high-speed internet make it possible to monitor the most remote points in the mining zone. Specialists at the mine will be able to quickly transmit information about the current situation at production sites. High-quality communications and the internet will make it possible to successfully introduce a multifunctional security system at the mine.

The complex terrain of mining sites makes it particularly important to have a stable mobile connection. Now, it’s possible to contact an employee by phone even in a quarry, at a depth of 420 meters below ground level. This is a great contribution to improving both employee comfort and industrial safety, which is our company’s top priority. This technology will make it possible for us to develop modern services in the future, such as a dispatching system for production processes and a video monitoring system in the mining pit.
