First EKG-12K Excavator Commissioned at Kiyzassky Open-Pit Mine
Kiyzassky Open-Pit Mine’s first EKG-12K excavator has been put into operation, while two similar electric excavators are in the process of assembly and will begin working by the end of September 2023.
The EKG-12K excavator with a bucket volume of 12 m3 will not only allow for more efficient coal mining, but also reduce the cost of excavating rock mass by 20% compared to imported diesel excavators. The use of the new electric excavator at the Kiyzassky Open-Pit Mine will have a positive impact on the environment, as it does not emit harmful substances into the atmosphere.
The excavator weighs 430 tonnes and is 15.4 meters in height. When creating the new excavator, the machine builders took the design features of its predecessors into account. The advanced EKG-12K excavator is equipped with a modern control system that allows full control of the operation of the equipment and the parameters of the excavator’s main electric drive motor.
